Know Your Play

Learn more about the plays of the Permian Basin! PBPA provides a “Know Your Play” section in our PB Oil & Gas magazine, and hope you find it useful.

The Permian Basin is an oil field located in Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas, covering an area  approximatley 250 miles wide, and 300 miles long. The Permian Basin includes the following counties:

Texas Counties: Andrews, Borden, Coke, Crane, Dawson, Ector, Gaines, Glasscock, Howard, Reeves, Sterling, Terrell, Upton, Ward  and Winkler

New Mexico Counties: Chaves, Eddy, Lea and Otero
